Abstract

Al-Attas detected a striking difference between modern science from the West and science that developed in Islam. Secular Western styles and civilizations have colored the knowledge that has spread to the Muslim community. If Muslims consume secular Western knowledge, it is certainly contrary to the goals and views of Muslim society. On this basis, al-Attas provides an alternative to answering these problems by developing the concept of Islamization of science. This research is library research, which aims to find out and understand the concept of Islamization of science developed by al-Attas using the descriptive-analytical method. Al-Attas defines Islamization as the liberation of man from magical, mythological, and animistic traditions and the shackles of secularism. The Islamization of al-Attas science seeks to identify, separate, and alienate elements of Western civilization in the body of science so that science is clean from Western elements that are not following the spirit of Islam. Islamic scholarship is closely related to education, where the people in control in the world of education must understand the field of Islam and Western civilization in the sense that there is a balance of knowledge possessed by each individual.

Abstract

Communication is one of the channels to convey information to the public. The village head as the highest government head in the village is guided to be able to interact well and provide welfare to the entire community. Development innovation will never run well without effective communication between village heads, community leaders and local villagers. This study uses the critical discourse method of Teun A Van Dijk who pays attention to dismantling the political communication discourse of the Korleko village head hidden behind the text. The results of this study also show that the discourse that is built is not very effective in the interaction between the village head and the local community for the political communication channel in the public space is less effective to the community. As for others, such as the creation of information boards and the disclosure of the Village Budget as a form of transparency and effective public communication, are not optimally (closed). As a result, people who do not fully trust the village government demand the use of technological media such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and even YouTube to display Village Budgets as a form of honesty and one of the principles mandated by the Constitution.

Abstract

Political philosophy is one of the interesting discourses in philosophy. In simple terms, political philosophy is defined as knowledge of various matters relating to politics that are systematic, logical, free, in-depth, and comprehensive. In Western (Greek) philosophers represented by Aristotle, it was because of his success in making concepts in various fields of science, especially about politics. Among Eastern (Islamic) philosophers, Al-Farabi is one of the figures who talks a lot about politics, almost half of the works he writes talk about politics. This paper aims to find common ground and differences in political philosophy thought between Aristotle and Al-Farabi. This research is included in the type of library research. To get the data needed, the authors refer to various sources such as books, journals, articles, and the internet that discuss the thoughts of the two figures. Furthermore, the authors conducted an analysis using the historical-analytical method. The results of this study show that Al-Farabi's political thoughts were inspired and more or less influenced by Aristotle's political thoughts. In addition, it appears that Al-Farabi's political thought is not only oriented to worldly pleasures, but also hereafter. This is influenced by Al-Farabi's belief about the existence of life after death.

Abstract

This article examines antonyms in Arabic and the Al-Qur'an, which are kalamullah which were derived from Arabic. This research aims to explain the differences regarding what is meant by antonyms in Arabic rules and what is meant by antonyms which are agreed upon by the commentators in interpreting the Al-Qur'an. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical method. This method is used to parse the question, where are the differences between the antonyms in the Arabic norm and the interpretation of the Al-Qur'an? From this paper it can be concluded that antonyms in Arabic can be said to be more complex like other language rules. Starting from the definition, classification, linguist opinion about the existence of antonyms, to the reasons for their appearance, there are various differences of opinion between one another. While antonyms in the interpretation of the Al-Qur’an, the interpreters agree that what is called an antonym in interpreting the Al-Qur’an is what is called idiomatic in Arabic rules, namely one and the same word has opposite meanings depending on what words accompany it. Or what comes after.

Abstract

This research describes the multilevel needs theory in Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology. This research uses descriptive analytical method and is a literature review. Humanistic psychology is the third school in psychology after psychoanalysis as the first school and behaviorism as the second school. Unlike the previous second school, Abraham Maslow did not use people with neurotic symptoms and monkeys as objects of his observation. He made normal humans to observe personality which he later built into a theory of stratified needs. The stages in the hierarchy of needs theory are physiological needs, safety needs, belongingness needs, esteem needs and self-actualization needs. The result showed that humans have stages to reach the peak of existence which are interrelated with each other. If a stage has not been fulfilled, then he can not proceed to the next stage until the peak reaches the stage of self-actualization. This stage makes humans feel fully themselves while at the same time having fulfilled the basic needs in their lives.
